General Information

Payment for recording sessions is up front, in cash, money order, or Paypal only - no personal checks are accepted.

Typically you will arrive and unload around noon, and we will take the afternoon to tune and intonate your instruments. Around 5 or 6, we will start getting sounds. We won't begin tracking until we are all happy with the sounds on playback. We start tracking with all rhythm tracks (drums, bass, rhythm guitars) going down at the same time. We will proceed to guitar/keyboard overdubs and finally vocal overdubs. You will probably leave with rough mixes of each song; we will work on final mixes from there.

Think about your instruments as if they are about to go under a very refined audio microscope. Your instrument shouldn't make any sounds except the ones that you set in motion - no squeaks, buzzes, rattles, etc. - just pure, beautiful music! Good recorded sounds start with good-sounding instruments. No amount of EQ, effects, editing, or other processing can fix a sound that is fundamentally flawed from the beginning.
